Administrative history

The Loyola College Dramatic Society was formed in 1926. It became known as Loyola Drama, and presented numerous productions over the years. In 1970 there were management difficulties, and Loyola Drama joined with Loyola Music, adopting the name Loyola Musical Theatre Society. After a difficult year 1971-1972, the Loyola Musical Theatre Society was dismantled in the summer of 1972. Other college dramatic companies followed.

Custodial history

Most of these documents were transmitted to John Buell at some point, who donated them to the Concordia University Archives in 2000. Some of the play programs were held by Concordia University's Vanier Library until their transfer to the Concordia University Archives in 1999.

Scope and content

The fonds provides information on the artistic activities of the Loyola College Dramatic Society.
The fonds consists mainly of play programs, press clippings, and photographs.
