The Stefan Christoff collection documents political and social movements in Tiohtià:ke / Montreal, Quebec, across Canada, and internationally, through posters, photographs, and textual records prepared for events, protests, and movements. The posters, collected by Stefan Christoff, form an archive of community-based grassroots organizing initiatives in Montreal and beyond. They document local community-based activism, social justice, migrant justice, human rights, resistance, solidarity movements, and climate justice actions. Palestine, Gaza, apartheid, and systemic racism are important themes throughout. In addition, the collection contains materials related to spoken word; poetry; and the Montreal music and art scenes. Posters were created by multiple individuals, including but not limited to Stefan Christoff, Freda Guttman, Kiva Stimac, Hoda Adra, Chadi Marouf, Kevin Yuen Kit Lo, Hassan Choubassi, Hani Abbas, Ben Shahn, Kevin Caplicki, Zoë Power, Kandis Friesen, Jesse Purcell, Sawsan Kalache, Nidal el-Khairy, Ian Ilavsky, Bita Eslami, and Josh MacPhee. The collection also contains materials representing work by Séripop, Justseeds artists' cooperative, Popolo Press, and LOKI.
The Stefan Christoff collection is composed mainly of posters, but also contains photographs, flyers, zines, and other textual records.
