The sub-series documents the training of potential YMCA career officers in the Fellowship Training Program run by the Montreal YMCA at Sir George Williams College/University from 1923 until 1970. This sub-series provides insight into The Black Theatre Workshop’s (BTW) contribution to education at the primary and secondary levels and contains documentation pertaining to The Theater for Young Audiences Program, which was first implemented in 1983. A number of plays were produced exclusively for this program and were shown to both elementary and secondary school audiences. These were generally presented in schools in the Greater Montreal area, but also shown in Nova Scotia and the United States among other locations. The sub-series contains documents pertaining to school tours, which took place from 1986 to 2011. Many of these tours took place during Black History Month. Materials document the plays that were part of the series, necessary preparatory work, the schools that hosted the performances, and finances, along with feedback from teachers, students and actors.

The sub-series documents the activities of the YMCA Hi-Y social club for high school boys and girls and SO-ED, a program which combines social and educational activities through workshops and lectures. It also provides information on the Foremen’s Club, founded in 1942 to help foremen understand supervisory responsibilities and their administration through a series of lectures and conferences.
The records include minutes, correspondence, brochures, workshop and training materials.
The Senior Musicians' Association was registered with the Department of National Revenue in August 1974 to qualify as a charitable organization, and obtained its certification in January 1975. Its purpose, according to the documents: "to provide an opportunity for retired musicians to get together socially, form an orchestra and give free concerts to golden age residences, hospitals, etc." Its funding came from government grants and the musicians union through its Music Performance Trust Funds, as well as private sponsors and donors. Led by Herb Johnson, the Senior Musicians Orchestra played from 1975 through 1987.
The documents in the sub-series are primarily administrative records reflecting the formation and activity of the Association.
