The Victoria Stanton and Vincent Tinguely collection contains materials concerning the theory, practice, and history of spoken word poetry. It also thoroughly documents the history of the spoken word scene in Montreal from the 1960s until 2001. Significantly, the collection documents the writing and publication of Victoria Stanton and Vincent Tinguely’s Impure: Reinventing the Word (conundrum press, 2001).

The Victoria Stanton and Vincent Tinguely contains interviews conducted by Stanton and Tinguely with 75 French and English poets, authors, artists, and performers, including Heather O'Neill, Jonathan Goldstein, Michel Garneau, John Giorno, Zoe Whittall, Jean-Paul Daoust, Simon Dardick, Catherine Kidd, Geneviève Letarte, Naila Keleta-Mae, Hélène Monette, Trish Salah, Anne Stone, Todd Swift, and Debbie Young, among many others. The collection also includes, 52 CDs, 12 mini-CDs, 4 LPs, 8 cassettes, and 5 VHS and beta of spoken word and poetry released between 1971 and 2014; newspaper clippings; notes and working papers; manuscript drafts and translations; galley proofs; correspondence; and research materials, among other documents. Materials concerning Montreal literary festivals, including Blue Metropolis and the Festival Voix d’Amériques, can be found throughout.
