Material consists of thirty-one letters between Russell Thornton and Irving Layton, in which Layton offers advice and encouragement to the young poet. The letters also chronicle Layton’s personal and professional life. The fonds also contains signed typescript copies of Layton’s poems. The Russell Thornton Fonds is part of the Irving Layton Collection.
