The series provides information on Wartime Production and McKenna Purcell Productions, two companies incorporated by Brian McKenna and Susan Purcell, and used to produce several films, as The Valour and the Horror. The series also provides information on administrative aspects of the Fifth Estate, people McKenna worked with or contracted for his documentaries, and the technology used by McKenna in the 1980s.

Series contains 54 photographs documenting the daily life of Dorothy Harper. Photographs, which include portraits and landscapes, were mostly taken in Quebec, specifically in Montreal, Sainte- Agathe, Saint-Sauveur, and Sainte-Adèle. Photographs also showcase scenes in Ottawa, Ontario; Burlington, Vermont; and New York City, New York. Significantly, a number of photographs were taken inside jazz clubs in Montreal, including Café Esquire and El Morocco. Three photographs depict Oscar Peterson in concert.

Diniacopoulos, DenisThe series provides insight into the relationships between the Black Studies Center and other organizations, such as the Black Community Resource Centre (BCRC), National Black Coalition of Canada (NBCC), Black Community Central Administration of Quebec (BCCAQ), Black Community Council of Quebec, Black Theatre Workshop (BTW), Negro Community Centre (NCC), Quebec Board of Black Educators (QBBE), Montreal Negro Alumni Group, Open Door Society, Maison d’Haiti, Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission, Black Action Party, and more. It also contains information about the relationship between the Black Studies Centre and the municipal government. In some instances, documents that concern the internal operations of these organizations, including financial statements, meeting minutes, and letters patent, among others, can be found. The series also contains information about organizations that existed prior to the foundation of the Black Studies Center, including the Trinidad & Tobago Association, the Conference Committee, and the Conference on West Indian Affairs. Finally, the series illustrates carnivals, exhibitions, conferences, and major events like the World Black and African Festival of Arts and Culture in Lagos. Mr. Robertson corresponded with several people to exchange information about records, entertainers and numericals. Some of his correspondents really helped him in his research while he helped others in their own field. He also received several newsletters which he filed with his correspondence. These newsletters were used to establish contacts with other collectors or sent by correspondents.
Mr. Robertson established a file for each correspondent. The system remains the same; the files were classified in alphabetical order and the letters in chronological order.
Series A includes Don Cleary's collectors directory - 1977. Some of the addresses of Mr. Robertson's correspondents were taken from that directory.
Some miscellaneous notes and photocopies were grouped together but not organized by subject. These refer to a variety of subjects discussed in the correspondence but cannot be associated with any particular letter or correspondent. Since Mr. Robertson filed these material with his correspondence, it has been left in that series.
Some letters which had only the correspondent's first name or no name at all were found in the collection. These could not be placed with any other letters and have been grouped together in an "Anonymous" file.
Series is composed of photographic prints, negatives, and slides, of Irving Layton, Betty (Sutherland) Layton, Aviva (Cantor) Layton, and children Max Layton, Naomi Layton, and David Layton.

Also included are planning diagrams for Francis’ research, notes concering Layton’s political views, an annotated transcript of an interview between Irving Layton and Mervin Butovsky, and notes on various chapter drafts.
