Samuel H. Schecter, a Montreal entrepreneur and benefactor of this university at the official opening of the Weissman Gallery in the Henry F. Hall Building. Schecter established a fund to collect contemporary art, which later resulted in the outstanding Sir George Williams University Collection of Canadian Art.
