Series contains records relating to the writing of Peter Desbarats’ book. Material consists of typed and manuscript drafts of the monograph, notations and corrections made by Desbarats and Lévesque, Desbarats preface to “The State of Quebec,” and copies of his introduction and postscript for the paperback edition.

The Beatrice Bazar fonds contain materials created or accumulated by Beatrice Bazar from 1935 to 2009. The fonds also includes material related to Bazar’s relationship with Irving Layton.

The fonds consists of newspaper clippings, correspondence, honors and awards given to Bazar, invitation cards to several diplomatic events and ceremonies, newspaper clippings, and documentation about Bazar's work and community services, including her participation as a board member of the United Nations Association in Canada. The fonds also includes newspaper clippings of Layton’s poems, one of which is signed, love letters and poems to Beatrice Bazar from Irving Layton, and photographs, The Beatrice Bazar Fonds is part of the Irving Layton Collection.

Material consists of love poems and love letters written by Irving Layton to Beatrice Bazar.

Material consists of three poems written by Layton and published in newspapers. The first leaf of poems is entitled Two Poems by Irving Layton and includes the poems “At the Belsen Memorial,” and “Rhine Boat Trip.” The second leaf includes a poem published in The Covenant entitled “Dialogue.”

The series provides some information about Beatrice Bazar's personal life.

The series includes marriage certificates, correspondence, press releases about Bazar's 50 years of marriage, Beatrice Bazar's funeral leaflet, and a letter of condolence from the Governor General to Bazar's family.

Series contains photographs relating to the Carolyn Smith fonds. Material consists of portraits of Irving Layton, photographs of Layton, Smith and Doug Brown, Mike Day, and a photograph of Dorothy, Stuart, and Irving.
