The fonds is organized in two series PRIVATE LIFE and PROFESSIONAL LIFE.

The PROFESSIONAL LIFE series contains a TEACHING sub-series with records on Howard Fink's career at Sir George Williams and Concordia University: an agenda, miscellaneous correspondence, course outlines, an honour student file, examination questionnaire samples. There's a sub-series titled COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT related to his involvement with the Canadian Association of Emeriti and Retired Academics (CAERA), the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA) and the Association for the Study of Canadian Radio and Television (ASCRT). The POETRY READING SERIES and the FACE TO FACE CONFERENCE sub-series include correspondence, programmes, publicity and other records related to the logistics of those events. The RESEARCH sub-series contains record about a France-Quebec collaboration on the study radio-drama tradition. The fonds also contains records about the Centre for Broadcasting Studies Fink helped establishing and the CBC Radio Drama Bibliography.

The PRIVATE LIFE series contains personal correspondence.

The Black Studies Centre fonds contains materials documenting the administration, services, and activities of the Black Studies Centre from its beginnings as the National Black Coalition Quebec Institute of Research until 2014. The fonds also documents the Centre’s role within Montreal’s Black communities, as well as its relationships to other organizations working within and outside Montreal. In addition, the Black Studies Centre fonds is an important source of reference documentation pertaining to the history, culture, and contributions of Black communities in Canada: it contains a rich collection of newspapers, periodicals, and books, dating from 1969 to 2012, including but not limited to copies of Contrast (1969-1999), Community Contact (1998-2008), Afro-Can (1981-1984), Focus Umoja (1974-1978), Uhuru (1969-1970), and Umoja (1969-1970, 1990), as well as books that were previously held in the collection of the Black Studies Centre’s Library.

The fonds provides information on the activities and management of the Computer Centre/Computing Services at Concordia between 1974 and 1996 and during its period at Sir George between 1970 and 1974. There are also some files which document the activities of the Loyola College Computing Centre (1970-1971) and its Data Processing Department (1971-1974). The fonds also includes the research material for the History of Computing Services Project, realized in 1995-1996, which include recorded interviews with employees of the unit and its four directors: Graham Martin, Ivan Fuchs, Jack Fearnley, and John Woodrow.

The fonds mainly documents the CIT and Concordia AV Department audio-visual productions and photographs made for the University community. There are also some textual administrative records, mostly composed of the documents of Gary Boyd, AV Assistant Director, Research & Development.

The fonds includes sound recordings (e.g. audio reels, compact cassettes) and moving images (e.g. film reels, video reels, videocassettes). For instance, the fonds contains most of the original audio reels of the SGWU Poetry series recorded for the English department between 1965 and 1974 (see the Concordia SpokenWeb project which uses this material). The fonds also includes photographs made by the AV Photographic section for the University community. This material is mainly composed of faculty and staff portraits and pictures of University events, dated between 1979 and 1994.

The fonds includes lectures, speeches, and articles; correspondence, daily journals, and photographs. The fonds also includes three dolls made by Sr. Prudence Allen’s grandmother, Christine Hamilton Allen (1875-1952), a social worker who worked closely with Eleonar Roosevelt during the Suffrage Movement. There are other artifacts such as a Tree of Life embroidered for Sr. Prudence Allen by Gretta Nemiroff.

Le fonds comprend dix séries. Plusieurs des séries de ce fonds se subdivisent en sous-séries. [Par exemple, la série P027.1 (organisation) comprend cinq sous-séries.] Les documents de ce fonds couvrent la période allant de 1972 à 1982 inclusivement. Cependant, la majeure partie des documents furent créés entre 1973 et 1976.

Le présent répertoire traite des dossiers administratifs et financiers de l'organisme, ainsi que des dossiers d'artistes, d'expositions, du matériel de publicité (affiches, catalogues d'art) et des

photographies.

Il y a peu de documentation disponible sur les activités de Véhicule Art entre les années 1976 et 1982. Durant cette période la galerie dut affronter des difficultés d'ordre administratif et financier. Un changement fréquent des membres et une insuffisance de sources de financement contribuèrent à affaiblir la gestion de la galerie et de ses activités. La documentation de ses dernières années est très pauvre.

L'ordre original des documents reflétait assez fidèlement l'organisation interne de cette galerie. Ainsi les documents datant de 1972 à 1975, étaient relativement bien organisés, ne demandant aucun classement alors que ceux couvrant la période 1976-1982 étaient rares et nécessitaient une réorganisation complète.

Le fonds se compose de documents recueillis ou créés durant la production du documentaire Show Girls de l'Office national du film du Canada. Il porte sur la scène du jazz montréalaise des années 1920 aux années 1960 et fait la chronique de la vie de trois femmes, Tina Baines Brereton, Bernice Jordan Whims et Olga Spencer Foderingham, qui ont fait partie de chorus lines dans des boîtes de nuit comme Rockhead's Paradise, The Terminal et le Café St-Michel.

Le fonds comprend des notes de recherche, des séquences inédites, des vidéocassettes, des transcriptions d'entrevues avec les protagonistes du film, des enregistrements sonores d'entrevues de différentes sources, des plans d'archives, des listes de plans, des coupures de presse de publicités des boîtes de nuit, des livres de référence et des copies VHS du documentaire.
