The Negro Community Centre/Charles H. Este Cultural Centre fonds contains records relating to the operation of the Negro Community Centre/Charles H. Este Cultural Centre. It contains textual records and other materials documenting the mission; structure; administration; building and facilities; and programs and services offered at the Centre, dating from its founding in the late 1920s until it ceased its operations. The fonds also contains materials dating to after the closure of the Centre.

The fonds documents the history of the Negro Community Centre/Charles H. Este Cultural Centre, its role in Little Burgundy and the greater Montreal area, and its relationships to other organizations, including but not limited to the Coloured Women's Club of Montreal; Union United Church; Red Feather Services; Federated Appeal of Greater Montreal; and Centraide. The fonds also includes documentation related to the Walker Credit Union and Afro-Can. The Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters is also mentioned in the documentation.

The Negro Community Centre/Charles H. Este Cultural Centre fonds includes a wide variety of textual records, including but not limited to administrative records; ledgers and other financial records; correspondence; board and committee meeting minutes and related records; reports; calendars, flyers, posters, descriptions and other documentation relating to programs, services, and events taking place at the Centre; photographic materials, including prints and negatives; architectural drawings and plans; clothing; and ephemera.

The fonds provides information on the editing and publishing work of Véhicule Press.

The fonds consists of manuscripts, published and bound books, and publicity materials; production materials including correspondence, pamphlets, layouts and sketches for covers, printing templates, printing quotes, typescripts, page proofs with corrections, editors' and authors' notes, biographies of authors, curricula vitae, pictures of various authors and agendas; and posters and post cards that were printed for the Véhicule Art gallery.

The antique maps collection contains mostly early maps of America, Europe and Asia. Many of these maps are hand coloured. Some of the later maps show cities, including London and Paris.

The purpose of the Oral History-Montreal Studies program is to document the history of the Montreal metropolitan area. Sponsored by Shell Canada, the program funds projects which make accessible the oral history of Greater Montreal, through systematic interviewing of leaders and witnesses of the labour, industrial, cultural, social, religious, and ethnic scene since World War II. The project is administered by the Concordia University Library.

The collection provides information on the history of Greater Montreal. It consists of recorded interviews of individuals as well as some transcripts and application forms for some of the projects. The projects are:

Le fonds se compose de documents recueillis ou créés durant la production du documentaire Show Girls de l'Office national du film du Canada. Il porte sur la scène du jazz montréalaise des années 1920 aux années 1960 et fait la chronique de la vie de trois femmes, Tina Baines Brereton, Bernice Jordan Whims et Olga Spencer Foderingham, qui ont fait partie de chorus lines dans des boîtes de nuit comme Rockhead's Paradise, The Terminal et le Café St-Michel.

Le fonds comprend des notes de recherche, des séquences inédites, des vidéocassettes, des transcriptions d'entrevues avec les protagonistes du film, des enregistrements sonores d'entrevues de différentes sources, des plans d'archives, des listes de plans, des coupures de presse de publicités des boîtes de nuit, des livres de référence et des copies VHS du documentaire.

Le fonds témoigne de l'amitié entre Edith Mather et Irving Layton. The fonds is related to Jack Gillmore’s work as an actor, writer, and director of Canada’s first radio plays in Vancouver, B.C. between 1925-1935. Gillmore was a member of the CNRV Players and performed over a hundred plays on the radio including but not limited to, “Peg O’ My Heart”, “R.U.R.”, and “The Zepplin’s Passenger” (Zeppelin's Passenger). Gillmore’s memoir includes his reminiscences on his career on the radio, his experiences as a car salesman in the 1920s, his marine equipment businesses in the 1930s and 1940s, and events he lived through between 1902 and 1977. The fonds also includes material relating to the deposit.

The fonds consists of photocopies of annotated scripts, essays, notes, production sheets, correspondence, and press clippings. It also includes a contact sheet, and Gillmore's memoirs.

The David Lee fonds illustrates David Lee’s work as an author as well as the life of Paul Bley. It contains material related to the biography of the Montreal-born jazz pianist Paul Bley (1932-2016), entitled “Stopping Time : Paul Bley and the Transformation of Jazz” by Paul Bley and David Lee, published by Vehicule Press in 1998.

The Gerald Clark fonds contains documents pertaining to the Gerald Cohen's professional life and documents current events occuring in the period that he was active as a newspaper correspondent.

The fonds is composed of research materials, notes, drafts of articles and books, clippings of articles, correspondence, and speeches, among other materials. It also includes recorded interviews with world figures.

The documents provide a portrait of English-language theatrical activity in Quebec, primarily in the period after the founding of QDF in 1972. The fonds contains budget, fundraising, and other financial records, legal documents, human resources documents, correspondence, records of the Quebec Drama Festival 1974-1984, documents relating to QDF-sponsored workshops, seminars, and programs, materials on the Dominion Drama Festival, theatre programs, and photographs. There is also material that was collected for a history of English-language theatre in Quebec.

The Bob McKenna fonds contains documents pertaining to the film “About the Corridart Affair,” produced by Bob McKenna in 2001.

The fonds contains original material used for the production of the film “About the Corridart Affair.” The documents consist primarily of on-camera interviews with the artists involved in the exhibition "Corridart dans la rue Sherbrooke," bearing witness to the artists’ careers and to the legal proceedings following the dismantling of the exhibition. Also included in the fonds are the film itself and a poster announcing the film, along with electronic photographs and newspaper clippings used in the production of the film.

The Mary Morter fond contains documents pertaining to theater in Montreal. More specifically, the fonds is composed of materials concerning the Instant Theatre and the Pendulum Theatre, both located in Montreal and founded and run by Mary Morter in the 1960s and 1970s. The fonds provides an overview of the programming at both theatres. It also provides insight into how the theaters were perceived by the public. In addition, the fonds contains a number of documents focusing on the play North American Indian Legends by Pendulum Theatre. Documents created by other theatres located in Montreal or Toronto provide additional insight into the English-speaking theatre scene in those cities in the 20th century.

The Mary Morter fonds contains theatre programs, photographs, posters, correspondence, magazines, scrapbooks of newspaper clippings, a sound recording, and various plays, among other documents.

Collection consists of 1278 audio recordings of musical performances by Concordia students, faculty and guests. They were recorded at the Loyola Chapel and at the Oscar Peterson Concert Hall between 1986 and 2005. Most are in audio cassette format with the latest ones on compact disc.

The fonds documents Daniel Feist’s work as a freelance broadcaster, journalist, musician and teacher, including his travels and participation in events such as Montreal’s Nuits d’Afrique festival, the United Nations Conference on Racism, music awards, and others. The material mainly covers the genre of world-beat music (also known as world music) in the period from 1990 to 2005. Some sound recordings of music performances include interviews with the artists.

The fonds includes without limitations biographies of artists, drafts of articles, consulting reports, teaching material, correspondence, books, sound recordings (digital audio tapes, reel-to-reel tapes, cassette tapes, and CDs), newspaper clippings, notes, and photographs (on CD-ROM and printed out in black and white).
