This series provides information on the relationship between the Black Theatre Workshop (BTW) and other cultural, political or social organizations. The series contains documentation pertaining to the relationships between the BTW and other organizations working within the Montreal Black community, including Union United Church. It is also composed of materials that provide insight into the relationships between the BTW and organizations and suppliers working within or supporting theater and the arts in Montreal. Among others, you will find information about other theater groups, including the Centaur Theater and the Dance Theatre of Harlem, and a number of humanitarian organizations. Several documents in this series are related to the Martin Luther King Jr. Federal Holiday Commission or Black History Month. One folder illustrates the history of Union United Church. The series also includes a brief about visible minorities’ art and culture, a report about subventions given to theatre companies, some issues of community newspapers like Community Contact, and a collection of newspaper clippings documenting not only the work of the Black Theatre Workshop, but Black life in Montreal and the theatre scene as well.

Articule has several programming committees, as well as the selection committee, deciding over the content of regular exhibitions, special projects, and the programming booklet, which is published annually and documents all events of the previous year. The annual curatorial exhibition, organised by the Board of Directors, helps shape the gallery’s identity.

The series gives an insight into English literature from Quebec, especially poetry, in, dating from the 1970s to 2014. Marc Abley was in contact with many fellow writers, including Emily Cran, Gary Geddes, Eric Wesselow, and many others. As a result, he gathered a small collection of chapbooks and monographies signed by the authors. He also collected some literary magazines and several issues of Ogmios, published by the Foundation for Endangered Languages. Finally, the series includes some pages from old newspapers that Abley preserved.

The series contains, but is not limited to, journals, leaflets, magazines, monographs, newspapers, newspaper articles, notes, a poster, chapbooks, and a bookmark.

Series contains photographs and textual records documenting the Negro Community Centre (NCC). Photographs depict the interior and exterior of the NCC building at 2035 Coursol Street; programs and activities occurring at the NCC, including dance and music lessons, arts and crafts, wood working, sports, summer camps, and games; and NCC staff and members. Photographs also show the daycare and concern the Stanley Clyke Memorial Library. Textual records document the administration of the NCC and include information about activities, programs, and services. Documents pertaining to Annual General Meetings (1980; 1994; 1996; 1998) at the NCC include meeting minutes and agendas, financial statements (1997-1998), and annual reports (1995-1996). Other documents include a membership card (1974); correspondence (1982; 1987); an issue of Focus Umoja (1974); lists of Board members (1994) and nominations to the Board of Directors (1998-2000); proposed changes to NCC by-laws (1998); financial reports (1994-1995; 1995-1996); minutes from a meeting of the Little Burgundy Council (1973); a newsletter (1994); a list of acquisitions for the Stanley Clyke Memorial Library (1978); a report to the building committee (1988); an insurance claim regarding water damage (1994); biographical information related to Stanley Clyke and Emily Clyke; and newspaper clippings (1967; 1975; 2000; 2014). The series documents the Black Studies Centre’s efforts to make crucial information about Black history and culture available to the community by providing access to a vast collection of books and other textual material, slides, audio recordings and films. This documentation is represented not only through the original card catalog, lists and bibliographies, but also through a wide array of publications collected by the Center that are available as part of the fonds. In addition, the series contains documents pertaining to the organization of the Black Studies Centre library and the work of its employees.
The series contains both fiction and non-fiction writing related to the life, culture, and contributions of Black communities throughout Canada, the United States, Africa, and the Caribbean, from the end of the 18th century to today. The series also includes documents concerning significant events. Several folders in this series document the Sir George Williams Affair, also sometimes referred to as the Sir George Williams Computer Centre Incident, the Anderson Affair, and the Sir George Williams University Computer Riot.

It also contains materials documenting Leon Llewellyn's participation in many of these community organizations. While the series contains materials dated from 1970 to 2012, including textual records, photographs, drawings, and objects, most document the period between 1970 and 1979. Materials primarily concern the activities of these organizations, including their administration, functions, and programs. Community organizations that appear throughout the documentation include, among others, the Negro Community Centre/Charles H.
