The collection provides information on Thomas D'Arcy McGee's history and his relation with his family.

It consists mainly of documents copied from a variety of archival sources by Timothy Slattery for The Assassination of D'Arcy McGee, published in 1968.

The collection includes about 50 original letters exchanged between Thomas D'Arcy McGee and members of his family. The collection includes several photographs, including a portrait of McGee by William Notman. The collection is also composed of newspaper clippings and objects.

In 1896 the Jesuits established Loyola College as the English-language branch of the classical college Collège Ste-Marie, founded in 1848. In 1974, Loyola College merged with Sir George Williams University to create Concordia University. The photographs in the collection document life at Loyola from 1908 onward. Subjects include classes, the Jesuit community, buildings (including aerial shots of the campus), sports teams, and special events. The other items in the collection relate to liturgical activities at the Loyola College chapel and include missals, lectionaries, printed prayers, patens, vestments, an altar stone, and other items.

Collection is composed of letters from Cid Corman to Raymond Souster. The letters were written in France, Japan, and Italy and include poems and conversation about poets including Irving Layton, poetry, notes about the content of the publication Origins, information about poetry readings, and about the different locations Corman has visited.

The documents in this collection were mainly created in South Africa between 1912 and 1960. This collection contains the documents of communist and labor organizations active in South Africa during the 1920s through the 1940s, including the Communist Party of South Africa, United Communist Party, South African Labour Party, Industrial Socialist League, South African Trades Union Congress, and South African Association of Employees Organizations. This collection also contains the papers of Cecil Frank Glass, a member of the Industrial Socialist League in Cape Town and the Communist Party of South Africa. C.F. Glass’s documents were given to Rochlin around 1939 by Glass’ first wife Fanny Klenerman.

Collection consists of 607 documents, including 90 pamphlets, 46 newspaper or periodical titles, and folders containing 471 miscellaneous documents, including minutes, accounts, flyers, news clippings, correspondence, and handbills. Many of the documents in this collection are unique. As a result of their ephemeral nature it is unlikely that they are to be found elsewhere.

Most are jazz, but other styles of music are also represented. The collection is completed by some sheet music, literature, photographs, especially showing John Wilson McConnell, and a microphone.

The Collection contains news service photographs as well as photographs from the Canadian Armed Forces. Also included are original identifying captions that accompanied their transmission by news media wire services. Most of the photographers remain unidentified. They made their photographs while on assignment for international news agencies or the War Records Office for distribution to the news media.

The Dorothy Harper collection contains materials documenting the the life of Dorothy Harper, specifically her interest in jazz music.

The collection contains two sound recordings and 54 photographs. A number of the photographs showcase jazz clubs in Montreal, including the Café Esquire and El Morocco. Other images show Oscar Peterson in concert, while many depict scenes from Dorothy Harper's life in Montreal in the mid-1940s.

The fonds consists of an 1896 photograph of the choir of St. Patrick's Church, Montreal and a menu of the 20th Century Drive and Banquet, held by the St. Ann’s Young Men’s Society Montreal on January 8, 1901.

The collection contains the manuscript titled "The Dark History of Montreal for 130 Years" by Reverend John Douglas Borthwick. the manuscript, dated 1897, appears to cover some of the same topics that are found in his book "History of Montreal, including the streets of Montreal" (1897).

The Velma Weeks Barker collection contains materials related to the life and contributions of Velma Weeks Barker.

This collection contains photographs and textual records. The personal photographs that comprise the collection show Weeks Barker and her family and include photographs taken in Little Burgundy and inside community spaces, including Union United Church. Many of the images were also taken in family spaces. The textual records include newspaper clippings referring to activities occurring at the Negro Community Centre and the Negro Theater Guild. This collection also contains materials related to her husband, Darnley Cecil Barker, including information about his participation in the Canadian Army and his immigration from Barbados to Canada to serve.
