The series contains documentation pertaining to the relationships between the BTW and other organizations working within the Montreal Black community, including Union United Church. It is also composed of materials that provide insight into the relationships between the BTW and organizations and suppliers working within or supporting theater and the arts in Montreal. Among others, you will find information about other theater groups, including the Centaur Theater and the Dance Theatre of Harlem, and a number of humanitarian organizations. Several documents in this series are related to the Martin Luther King Jr. Federal Holiday Commission or Black History Month. One folder illustrates the history of Union United Church. The series also includes a brief about visible minorities’ art and culture, a report about subventions given to theatre companies, some issues of community newspapers like Community Contact, and a collection of newspaper clippings documenting not only the work of the Black Theatre Workshop, but Black life in Montreal and the theatre scene as well.

Series provides documentation about the production and filmmaking process of Magnus Isacsson’s released and unreleased documentaries and audiovisual projects, from his first independent film Uranium (1990) to Granny Power (2014).

It gives an insight in the life of various artists by the means of personal correspondence exchanged with Sur Rodney (Sur), exhibition catalogues, and documents related to The Sur Rodney (Sur) Show (1980) and the All New Sur Rodney (Sur) Show (1981), which were both presenting artists from the Manhattan's Lower East Side art scene. The series documents Sur Rodney (Sur)’s childhood in Montreal and his family background, illustrating the life of a black family in Montreal in the second half of the 20th century. Most of the documents have been collected by Jean [Gertrude Peters] Gordon.
The series contains correspondence between Sur Rodney (Sur) and his parents, Desmond Adams and Jean Adams, and documents related to family members, namely Desmond Rupert Adams, Sur Rodney (Sur)’s grandmother Hazel Irene Pierce, and Rodney’s brother David Adams. Several photo albums illustrate Sur Rodney’s childhood and his larger family. This series also contains documents related to the Negro Community Centre (NCC) and Union United Church, which both were frequented by family members, as well as Expo 67 and the Watchtower Society. Furthermore, the series informs about Sur Rodney (Sur)’s name change and his marriage to Geoffrey Hendricks.

Series contains photographs and textual records documenting the Negro Community Centre (NCC). Photographs depict the interior and exterior of the NCC building at 2035 Coursol Street; programs and activities occurring at the NCC, including dance and music lessons, arts and crafts, wood working, sports, summer camps, and games; and NCC staff and members. Photographs also show the daycare and concern the Stanley Clyke Memorial Library. Textual records document the administration of the NCC and include information about activities, programs, and services. A newspaper concerning the boating tragedy also forms part of the series (1954).

The document is a travel diary which relates travel memories from an unidentified person, from 1884 to 1901. They seem to be part of the French army deployed in Algeria. The diary is written in French and also contains various photographs, drawings and sketches.

Raymond Lemieux, president of the "Ligue pour l'intégration scolaire", gives a talk at Sir George Williams University about his views on French language education in Quebec.

Series is composed of documentation pertaining to numerous English-speaking Black community organizations based in Montreal. It also contains materials documenting Leon Llewellyn's participation in many of these community organizations. While the series contains materials dated from 1970 to 2012, including textual records, photographs, drawings, and objects, most document the period between 1970 and 1979. Materials primarily concern the activities of these organizations, including their administration, functions, and programs. Community organizations that appear throughout the documentation include, among others, the Negro Community Centre/Charles H. Documents in this series also concern particular events occurring in the Montreal Black community, including the Second National Congress of Black Women; Afro-Festival; Carnival; Carifiesta; and Congress of Commonwealth Caribbean Immigrants, among many others. In addition, arts-related events, instruction, exhibitions, and programs are well documented throughout, including those which took place at the Black Studies Centre.

This series documents the history of radio dramas in Vancouver, B.C. between 1925 and 1935, and Jack Gillmore’s involvement with the CNRV Players, Radio Artists Review, and the radio stations that broadcasted their programs. The fonds also includes photographs of the Association for the Study of Canadian Radio and Television’s 1983 conference and material relating to the deposit.

The series contains photocopies of essays, notes, production sheets, correspondence, and press clippings. It also includes a contact sheet and Gillmore's memoir.

This series consists of the radio drama scripts used by the CNRV Players and the Radio Artists Revue in Vancouver, B.C. dating between 1927 and 1935, for CKWX and CNRV (now Vancouver’s CBC station). Jack Gillmore began by adapting stage plays for the radio before going on to write original “Ideas” for the Radio Artists Revue in the 1930s.

The series contains photocopies of radio drama scripts which occasionally include cue lists, song lists, cast lists and other production notes. It also includes photocopies of published plays with handwritten edits.

The series contains Anne Savage's pedagogical notes for her teaching activities at the Art Association of Montreal and at McGill University. Most of the handwritten notes has been transcribed.

Series documents the personal life of Alfie Roberts and Patricia Cambridge, including their post-secondary education in Canada, their careers, their professional projects and affiliations, and their travels outside Canada. It also provides information and some documentation pertaining to their family and friends, including materials that provide insight into the lives of Roberts’s parents and their relationship with their son.
