The collection documents the life, work, and interests of Alfie Roberts and Patricia Cambridge. It includes documentation about their post-secondary studies, their work experience in different companies and organizations, their contribution to the black community and their affiliation with various community organizations such as the St. Vincent and Grenadines Association of Montreal, the Emancipation 150 Committee, the Black Community Council of Quebec and the Project Genesis. The collection provides information about several Black community organizations in Montreal, the rest of Canada and North America, including promotional material of events, which provide an overview of the cultural activities held between the 60s and 90s. In addition, the collection contains numerous publications such as periodicals, booklets and books that were part of Roberts and Cambridge’s personal library and the Alfie Roberts Institute. Some of the periodicals found in the collection include issues of The Vincentian, Afro-Can, Gramma, Uhuru, Caribbean Contact, The Afro Canadian, The Militant, The Struggle, Outlet, Focus Umoja, Justice, Freedom, The Crusader, Nam Speaks, Speak Out, Day Clean, Forum, and New Beginning, among others publications. The collection covers topics that are related but not limited to Black history, imperialism, slavery, racism, liberation, colonialism, Marxism, communism, socialism, housing and segregation, urban planning, labour, history of Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America.

Collection provides information on jazz music in Montreal from the 1930s through the 1960s. The collection complements other fonds and collections housed in the Concordia University Archives and Concordia University Library, Special Collections.

The collection includes swizzle sticks and other memorabilia from Montreal jazz night clubs such as Rockhead's Paradise, the Rainbow Bar Café, and Dinty Moore's. It also contains sound recordings, photographs of Rockhead's Paradise and owner Rufus Rockhead, sheet music, videotape copies of televisions shows on jazz musicians Oliver Jones, Paul Bley, and Oscar Peterson, and a copy of the book Montreal Confidential by Al Palmer.

Collection consists of 1278 audio recordings of musical performances by Concordia students, faculty and guests. They were recorded at the Loyola Chapel and at the Oscar Peterson Concert Hall between 1986 and 2005. Most are in audio cassette format with the latest ones on compact disc.

Corridart collection

The collection consists of materials assembled by the plaintiffs' lawyers and deposited with the Quebec Superior Court in connection with the Corridart case. The collection documents the conception and execution of Corridart, as well as its abrupt dismantling and the legal proceedings that followed. There are materials related to the careers of the artists who participated in the court case, and information about related legal precedents.

The collection includes an inventory by Melvin Charney of the sites along Sherbrooke Street, explaining the conception of Corridart as a rue-musée qu'on visite à pied. There is also a comprehensive set of photographs of Corridart, documenting the common elements (the continuous assemblage), as well as the works exhibited along Sherbrooke Street, the panels of text, and the sites of activities. These photographs trace the entire Corridart route from east to west. There are photographs documenting the dismantling. Others show impounded works and several illustrate damage to works. The collection includes project proposals, planning documents, contracts between artists and COJO, correspondence, articles from legal journals, reports of meetings, blueprints, and sketches. There are also artists' curricula vitae, photographs, brochures, and other documents related to the artists' careers that were assembled to establish their status as professional artists.

Dorothy Harper collection

The Dorothy Harper collection contains materials documenting the the life of Dorothy Harper, specifically her interest in jazz music.

The collection contains two sound recordings and 54 photographs. A number of the photographs showcase jazz clubs in Montreal, including the Café Esquire and El Morocco. Other images show Oscar Peterson in concert, while many depict scenes from Dorothy Harper's life in Montreal in the mid-1940s.

The Franklyn Harvey collection contains books, periodicals, and other documents that composed the library of Franklyn Harvey. The Hour collection is composed of 72 bound volumes of the Hour newspaper published between 1993 and 2011 and those issues published under the name Hour Community in 2011 and 2012. The bound volumes comprise almost every issue of Hour and Hour Community published between February 1993 and May 2012, with the exception of volume 2, numbers 18 to 35 (1994), which are missing from the collection. The collection also contains the prototype of Hour.

The collection contains newspaper clippings relating to Irving Layton. These clippings review his work, comment on events held to honour Layton and his work, include interviews with the poet, document reviews by fans, and include articles about Irving Layton and Canadian poets in general. Clippings were taken from several large Canadian newspapers from Montreal, Toronto, Hamilton, Ottawa, Regina, Saskatoon, and Vancouver and include newspapers and magazines such as the Gazette, the Toronto Star, the Georgian, Poetry Canadian Review, Saturday Night, The Canadian Forum, Sunday Star and the Telegram.

In 1896 the Jesuits established Loyola College as the English-language branch of the classical college Collège Ste-Marie, founded in 1848. In 1974, Loyola College merged with Sir George Williams University to create Concordia University. The photographs in the collection document life at Loyola from 1908 onward. Subjects include classes, the Jesuit community, buildings (including aerial shots of the campus), sports teams, and special events. The other items in the collection relate to liturgical activities at the Loyola College chapel and include missals, lectionaries, printed prayers, patens, vestments, an altar stone, and other items.

Joseph F. Bernard collection

The collection held by Concordia Records Management and Archives provides information on an important collection of ethnographical and archeological objects, mainly from the Cooper Inuits of Coronation Gulf, that Captain Joseph F. Bernard had gathered between 1916 and 1920. The assemblage was known as the Bernard Arctic Collection, but also as Bernard Eskimo Collection, Bernard Collection, or Bernard Inuit Collection. In 1921, Captain Bernard loaned his collection to Loyola College. He donated it in 1924 for a proposed College museum. The museum never materialized, and in 1947 Loyola College donated part of the collection to the Arctic Institute of North America in Montreal (the Institute moved to Calgary in 1976) and part to Cambridge University’s Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. Other parts of the Bernard Arctic Collection were donated in 1991 to the Canadian Museum of Civilization (now the Canadian Museum of History) and in 1993 to Loyola High School.
The material includes a photograph of Captain Joseph Bernard and photocopies of the following documents:

Mainly consists of archival materials documenting the actions and activities of the British colonial and the post-colonial governments in Kenya between the late 1880s through the early 1960s. 139 microfilm reels contain copies of thousands of government records, including annual and quarterly reports, intelligence reports, correspondence, secretariat circulars, and record books, amongst others. These once confidential records serve to document the economic, social, religious, and political upheavals in Kenya in the twentieth century leading to its independence from the United Kingdom in 1963.

The Lawrence Hayward collection contains documentation concerning Lawrence Hayward’s research on Canadian sculptors working between 1840 and 1910. The L’Entraide Missionnaire collection primarily consists of textual materials collected by L’Entraide Missionnaire during the course of their activities in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, and Uganda. Materials do not document the administration and functions of L’Entraide Mission, but reflect their presence and activities in Africa. The documents in this collection were given to the organization during the course of their work in the field and consist of fist-hand information from the ground in the countries where L’Entraide Missionaire was working from 1993 to 2013. Much of the documentation concerns mining in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The collection mostly contains textual records, including reports and summaries; correspondence; ministerial declarations; statutes, agreements, and conventions; financial statements; contracts and other legal documents; and texts documenting debates, among other material.

Collection consists of materials accumulated by Margaret Griffin and Clara Gutsche, mostly relating to the founding and first exhibition of Powerhouse Gallery, now La Centrale Galerie Powerhouse. Items also document The Flaming Apron craft store, and various exhibitions held at La Centrale Galerie Powerhouse. This collection contains items created by Margaret Griffin, Leslie Busch, Billie-Joe Mericle, and Stansje Plantenga, founding members of Powerhouse Gallery. Materials in this collection are primarily dated 1972-1974, with select documents dated 2001 and 2004. Some documents were annotated by Margaret Griffin and Clara Gutsche in 2014.

Materials documenting the establishment and history of Powerhouse Gallery include: correspondence, newspaper clippings, proposals, descriptions, timelines, publications, posters, slides, negatives, a leaflet, a drawing, a paintings, and clothing. These materials primarily concern the Gallery’s first exhibition, Windows: From the Inside Out: Painting, Photography, Ceramic and Sculpture (1973), presented at 1210 Greene Avenue in Westmount, Quebec. Items also document various exhibitions held at Powerhouse Gallery and La Centrale Galerie Powerhouse, including: Codpieces: Phallic Paraphernalia (1974), The Past to the Present (2001), and Powerhouse: Where are we now? (2001). Materials concerning the activities of The Flaming Apron, a craft store in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, include: clothing, ceramics, and a newsletter. This collection also contains La Centrale Galerie Powerhouse publications, including Women’s Bookworks (1979) and Les Centrelles (2004), as well as items related to art and artist run centers in Canada.

The Mary-Jacques Cambay Collection is the result of Mary-Jacques Cambay‘s research into stained-glass in Quebec, and the contributions of artists working in stained-glass to the Province's artistic heritage. The collection documents stained-glass windows existing in Quebec churches during the 1970s and 1980s. It also includes information pertaining to select churches. In addition, the collection documents the works of a number of stained glass artists, including Guido Nincheri, Charles William Kelsey, and Flavien St. Pierre, and the stained-glass studio "Canadian Pittsburgh Industries Limited" (C.P.I.). Importantly, it contains oral history interviews conducted by Cambay with artists working in stained glass.

The Mary-Jacques Cambay collection is composed mostly of photographic materials in form of prints and slides, but also audio cassettes and textual records. As textual materials, the collection consists in pamphlets, newspaper clippings, correspondence, extracts from reference works, and handwritten notes. An index of Quebec churches with stained glass windows completes the collection.

The collection is composed of images taken by François Lachapelle for the book "Répertoire des gravures conservées au Monastère des ursulines de Québec" (1982), created in collaboration with Mario Béland. The collection includes 465 slides, both black and white and colour, showing engravings, paintings, and embroidery from the collection of the Monastère des Ursulines de Québec. It also contains a handwritten inventory, which provides details about the items in the collection of the Ursulines de Québec.

The purpose of the Oral History-Montreal Studies program is to document the history of the Montreal metropolitan area. Sponsored by Shell Canada, the program funds projects which make accessible the oral history of Greater Montreal, through systematic interviewing of leaders and witnesses of the labour, industrial, cultural, social, religious, and ethnic scene since World War II. The project is administered by the Concordia University Library.

The collection provides information on the history of Greater Montreal. It consists of recorded interviews of individuals as well as some transcripts and application forms for some of the projects. The projects are:
