Name of creator
Dorothy Davis was born in 1897. She married and had a son, Robert Stein. In 1937 she was the co-founder with Violet Walters of the Montreal Children's Theatre, a theatre and theatre school for children. They directed the theatre from 1933 to 1990. Dorothy Davis died on September 22, 1993.
The fonds was transferred from Concordia University's Records Management and Archives Department to Concordia University Libraries' Special Collections April 12, 2016 and April 19, 2016.
Scope and content
The fonds provides information on Montreal Children's Theatre and its founders.
The fonds consists of five scrapbooks including press clippings and articles, as well as photographs, a video cassette of a media interviews with Dorothy Davis [ca. 1983, 1984] and of a report on her death in 1993, and the honourary degrees conferred by Concordia University on Dorothy Davis and Violet Walters in 1984.
