History
Fall 1974: Creation of the Learning Development Co-ordinator position responsible to the Dean of Arts and Science. The Office of Learning Development Co-ordinator's mandate would be to facilitate access to resources for the improvement of instruction, co-ordinate guest lecturers, workshops and other short sessions for the improvement of teaching and learning, and to stimulate study, planning and experimentation related to curriculum design, pedagogical method, evaluation and other phases of learning development. Ronald Smith of the Mathematics Department is the first Learning Development Co-ordinator.
1975: The Office of Learning Development Co-ordinator becomes the Learning Development Office.
1992: The Vice-Rector, Academic establishes a Committee to Review the Learning Development Office.
June 1, 1997: Olivia Rovinescu is appointed Director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning Services, succeeding Ronald Smith who had occupied the position since 1974.
